A unique concept derived from the brilliant brains of brothers Andrea and Daniele Vetrugno, Cantiere Hambirreria was born in 2017 in Lecce, Italy, leading to the opening of another in Milan, and then Manhattan. On Eater's list of "15 Standout Spots in Nolita," expect a combination of Italian passion and American decadence.
Think glasses of red wine alongside burgers, but not just any burgers - "These are elaborately conceived affairs," says Eater. The Salentino Burger is a superstar, repping prime beef, burrata, sun dried tomatoes, roasted peppers, mayonnaise, lettuce, and extra virgin olive oil.
The Balboa one of their American-style creations, stacked high with prime beef, peanut butter, crispy bacon, Maestro's BBQ sauce, cheddar sauce, rustic potatoes, and caramelized sesame. For something more classic Italian, the Crudo Focaccia is a delight with seasoned Parma ham, mozzarella, fresh tomatoes, balsamic vinegar glaze, taralli crumbs, and arugula.
The industrial decor is akin to a designers view of a construction site, but here, the edginess is offset by the effervescent social buzz, beckoning you in to devour indulgently and revel endlessly...

Construction is the theme, both in the menu and the atmosphere, Think souped-up motorcycles illuminated under marquee letters resting on a rusted I-Beam. Moving indoors, there's exposed brick, chains, and gears, not to mention a few Italian flags to remind you this is no average burger joint.
This is the third installment of Cantiere Hambirreria, helmed by brothers Andrea and Daniele Vetrugno. Fro Lecce and Milan to Manhattan, the authenticity is undeniable, and the creativity is unforgettable. And with wine & beer on deck to complement each bite, it's sure to be a "magnifico" night.
Try the Umbro Burger (prime burger, truffle sauce, Parmigiano DOP, ham, lettuce, olive oil), or the Tirolese (prime burger, stracciatella, bacon, fig sauce, chopped walnuts, lettuce, olive oil). And to pay homage to American influences, go for the Oxide with cheddar sauce, crispy bacon, fumè sauce, roasted peppers, and lettuce.
The Caprese Focaccia is always a winner, topped with tomatoes, mozzarella, arugula, and olive oil, while some may adore the hearty yet fresh Mare Salad comprised of lettuce, smoked salmon, burrata, fresh tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers, black olives, and croutons.
