We are taking a summer vacation to Togo without leaving Brooklyn! Join Edible Brooklyn for a family-style Tololease meal, prepared by Smorgasburg favorite Woézõ, complimented with endless Brooklyn Brewery Beer!

The following menu will be served family style, along with endless seasonal beers from Brooklyn Brewery, at Brooklyn Brewery:

  • First Course: Yova Salad, Avocado smothered in roasted sweet corn, red onion, and tender diced beets. Dressed in EVOO and S&P, topped with scratch made sriracha and cilantro. “Yovo” is what Togolese call foreigners. Although all these ingredients can be found in Togo, it’s probably only a Yovo that would make a salad like this.

  • Second Course: La Pâte with Ginger Stewed Okra and Onions, West African smooth polenta, served with okra and onions stewed with ginger. Choose braised beef and/or garlic-sauteed oyster mushrooms (vegan). La Pâte is a Togolese staple, typically eaten with the right hand. Okra sauces are objectively the most fun to eat with your hand.

  • Third Course: Koliko White Yam Fries, A ubiquitous Togolese street food, Koliko is white yams, thick cut and fried served with a tomato-based condiment. Different than sweet potato, white yams are heartier than potatoes without the sweetness. Dip the fries into the cool ginger gazpacho, made from an organic Hudson Valley heirloom tomato puree, ginger, onion, and spices.

  • Fourth Course: Tropical Fruits & Madecasse Chocolates, A little tropical sweetness to finish the meal. Madecasse “bean to bar in Africa” milk and dark chocolates are broken and sized perfectly to melt on your tongue.
